House Democrats have made public a additional set of what they described as "disturbing" pictures from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—a portion of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a minuscule portion of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking charges.
Included in the prominent personalities visible in the first release are celebrities including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
The White House addressed the release in a statement, charging Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the pictures for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a White House spokesperson remarked, maintaining that "this presidency has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by frequently urging disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of papers, and demanding more inquiries into Epstein's liberal connections."
The photographs were disclosed devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and senior member of the oversight committee, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with the rich and powerful.
"The moment has come to halt this White House concealment and bring justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he declared in a statement.
The disclosure of these documents coincides with the House panel proceeding with its probe into the affair.
