Loyal fans of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barrier and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video depicts the Australian man bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast walked down a promenade flanked by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was set to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user remarked.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Several followers criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further comment on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Numerous of attendees had gathered in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore mall, including several who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a dual version of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected bond between two distinct characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, earning several for best costume and set decoration.
