The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The effort seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The song features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have stated that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
